Lindsay Australia’s
Rural Supplies division ('Lindsay Rural') supplies around
750 farmers with an extensive range of agricultural products including
packaging, fertilizers, chemicals and irrigation equipment. The
company’s integrated end to end rural solutions package also provides
customers with the synergistic benefits of utilising the
vehicles delivering these farm inputs to transport fresh produce outputs
direct to major east coast consumer markets via Lindsay Transport refrigerated fleet.
The focus of the operations of Lindsay Rural is centred on south Queensland’s
lucrative horticultural sector, which is serviced by eight stores/depots
extending from Stanthorpe north to Emerald. Lindsay Rural has expanded in the
South Australian and Victorian markets with operations at Robinvale, Mildura, Mooroopna,
Kyabram and Invergordon in Victoria, and Renmark in South Australia.
Lindsay Rural, through a long-standing association with
Amcor, has developed a market leading position within its geographic
sphere, in the supply of specialist cardboard packaging for horticultural
growers. This strategic association with Amcor provides Lindsay Rural
with access to, and a means of quickly capitalising on new
market opportunities and the adoption of new technologies.
Lindsay Australia in late 2002 signed a seven year distribution agreement
with Amcor, and is closely working with this major packaging group to
open further opportunities on the back of its totally integrated service
package, incorporating transport of goods, packaging and rural merchandising
services.
