OUR FLEET

Lindsay’s prides itself on our fleet.

Each year we purchase new trucks to ensure the average of our trucks is kept low and we can proudly say we are one of the youngest fleets on the road. Our preference is vehicles in Kenworth and DAF with a predominant focus on B-double transport, and opportunities ranging from a Heavy Rigid up to a Road Train. Our drivers take great pride in carrying the Lindsay Brand and strive to keep their trucks looking as good as new inside and out.

All our trucks are fitted with the latest technology this includes, fatigue monitoring and electronic work diaries to make it easier for our drivers to monitor their speed and fatigue and allows for satellite tracking of all our vehicles.

THE LINDSAY STORY

Lindsay Brothers was established in March 1953 by Tom and the late Peter Lindsay when they signed a contract to buy 3 second hand trucks from their father, Victor Lindsay.

The business initially carried local fruit and vegetables to the trains in Coffs Harbour for transportation to the Sydney markets. They then went on to transport timber to Sydney and then bring fuel back out of Newcastle to Coffs Harbour. This was the beginning of the Lindsay Brothers legacy.

Lindsay Brothers was a pioneer in the refrigerated fruit and vegetable transport industry and was one of the first transporters to use refrigerated trailers in the country. By the early 1970s the fleet had grown to 20 trucks and 23 trailers while operations had expanded to Queensland and Lindsay Brothers had entered the business of chilled freight going on to become one of the largest refrigerated road transport companies. The early desire and drive for Industry best practise and continuous improvement remains; and we count among our major customers many well known Australian brands.

In 1983 a small rural supply company in the Bundaberg region called P & H Rural commenced, it was the foundation of Lindsay Rural today.

In 2001 the Lindsay Australia Limited company we know today was listed on the Australian Securities Exchange, incorporating both the Lindsay Transport business and the Lindsay Rural business formerly known as P & H Rural supplies Pty Ltd.
In 2014 Lindsay Fresh Logistics was launched, operating from the Brisbane markets it offers customers a range of services including unloading, cross docking, storage, ripening, fumigation, sterilisation, quarantine and inspection related services for produce export.

From Boambee in Coffs Harbour, Lindsay is now entering its seventh decade. Lindsay Australia Limited has evolved into a fully integrated transport, logistics, and rural supply company, servicing customers in the food-processing, food services, rural and horticultural sectors. Lindsay Transport now operates from 16 terminals with a fleet of over 1000 vehicles, Lindsay Rural has 19 branches located across Australia, collectively the business employs in excess of 1100 employees.
